The Carl Schurz High School Write Zone was established in 2001 but we are not the typical sit-down-with-a-teacher-to-get-help kind of writing center. We can assist you in prewriting, revising, editing, and proof reading without the dreaded RED PEN! Don't let that due date pass you by, get it right at the Write Zone.

The Write Zone grew out of our graduate studies. Because we are both English teachers, we were determined to establish a program that would tap into our knowledge and experiences of the past fifteen years, and directly help our students. Since very few  Chicago Public High Schools staff writing centers, this was quite an ambitious endeavor.
